MOUNT AIRY, N.C. (WGHP) -- A stepfather faces multiple charges following the death of a child in Mount Airy, according to a Surry County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The SCSO Criminal Investigation Division worked with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to make an arrest in the death of Aydan Krishaun Dodson, 14, of Mount Airy.
Gary Lynn White Jr., 41, of Mount Airy, is the child’s stepfather. He has been charged with:
- first-degree murder
- felony child abuse
- assault on a female
- domestic assault
Authorities revealed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
White was arrested on Thursday and served with the first-degree murder charge on Friday. He was given no bond.
