ROBERSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Deputies with the Martin County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene of a hit-and-run Tuesday night on Prison Camp Road in Robersonville.
Upon arrival, deputies found three victims who all had been hit by a car. All were taken to a local hospital where one of the victims, Na'Shaun Cox, died.
The other two victims, an 11-year-old and a 7-year-old, received care for non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect in the hit-and-run was determined to be Katelyn Steward Baker, 25, of Jamesville. Baker was charged with second-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon and DWI.
Allegedly, Baker ran over Cox with her car, leading to his death and also ran over the foot of one minor and the leg of the other when speeding away from the scene.
